In recent months our team has been paying close attention to the situation of Mt.Gox. We have been following all statements coming from Japan regarding problems with functioning of that exchange service. Out of concern for the safety of transactions made by our customers and their funds gathered in Bitcurex services we repeated a series of internal audits, as we always treat such incidents very seriously, regardless of how efficient our system is and how much we trust our solutions.
The results of the audits confirmed our earlier diagnosis, which we made thanks to our experiences from the two years of our presence in the business. To the best of our knowledge, the Mt.Gox. problem was not related to flaws in the bitcoin protocol, but resulted from incorrect procedures of this particular market, particularly the procedures for managing deposits and for identification of incoming and outgoing transactions.
Bitcurex has always absolutely prioritised the safety of the service and the mechanics of its operation. This is why we always choose solutions that we are 100% sure about, and it does not matter how much time and effort it takes to implement them.
The idea behind bitcoin, and most of all the community gathered around it, have shown their strength numerous times and have great future ahead – problems of one exchange service cannot change it. We would like to thank our users for their trust, measured with the most reliable tool available – the number of transactions that you make.
